About Abby

Abby Rawlinson (MBACP) is a British integrative therapist, author, and nervous system educator.

Her work explores how stress, trauma, burnout, and old survival patterns shape the way we think, feel, relate, and move through the world — and how understanding the nervous system can help people soften the protective strategies keeping them stuck in cycles of overwhelm, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and emotional exhaustion.

Abby’s therapeutic approach blends psychodynamic psychotherapy, neuroscience, mindfulness, CBT, and somatic therapy into a style that is compassionate, relatable, and grounded in real life.

Alongside running a private practice in London, Abby creates accessible mental health content for an online community of over 200,000 people through her platform (@therapywithabby) and her monthly newsletter that reaches over 15k subscribers.

Dr. Julie Smith has described her as “the therapist we all wish we had,” and Penguin Books praised her for her “invaluable work in democratising therapy.”

In 2024, her debut book, Reclaiming You, was published by Penguin and selected by Fearne Cotton to be part of the prestigious Happy Place Books class of 2024.

Her work has been featured in publications including The Times, Forbes, Stylist, Elle, Women’s Health, and Psychologies, and she has appeared as an expert on BBC Radio and podcasts including Saturn Returns, Dirty Mother Pukka, and Stompcast.

Before training as a therapist, Abby spent over 15 years working in media, marketing, and brand strategy with companies including Burberry, Swarovski, and John Lewis. She now combines her background in marketing with her expertise in mental health to collaborate with wellbeing and lifestyle brands in a way that feels thoughtful, authentic, and psychologically informed.

Abby also mentors therapists looking to grow sustainable, values-led businesses and expand beyond traditional one-to-one work.
