Reparenting Your Inner Child

A therapist-guided course to help you untangle old patterns, tend to your younger self, and recover a steadier, more joyful way of being.

We all carry unmet needs from childhood.

Many of us learned to survive without enough of the safety, support, or emotional attunement we needed. But now, those early coping strategies might be keeping us stuck in cycles of burnout, self-criticism, people-pleasing, or emotional overwhelm. These aren’t personal flaws — they’re echoes of needs that were never fully met.

Reparenting Your Inner Child is a 7-part audio course to help you gently untangle these patterns — and begin offering yourself the care you’ve always deserved.

Through grounded psychological insight, relatable stories, nervous system-informed practices, and honest, heartfelt guidance, you’ll learn to:

  • Understand how your earliest experiences shaped your nervous system, beliefs, and patterns

  • Recognise when a younger part of you is running the show - and respond with care instead of self-criticism or shame

  • Offer yourself the nurturing, protection, and play you may have missed growing up

  • Understand the difference between true comfort and numbing, and how to soothe yourself without self-abandoment

  • Stop repeating the same old patterns — and start showing up for yourself in ways you never knew were possible

This isn’t just a course about reparenting.

It’s a space to actually begin.

This course is for you if…

  • You’re self-aware — but still find yourself stuck in the same patterns, even when you know they’re not serving you.

  • You often feel like you're too much, not enough, or somehow both — and you're tired of living in a state of anxiety or depletion.

  • You’re trying to break generational cycles, parent differently, or simply feel more emotionally steady

  • You’re curious about reparenting, but want a grounded, therapist-informed approach — not vague affirmations or inner child fluff

A Peek Inside Each Lesson

Lesson 1: Why Heal Your Inner Child?

Understand how stress, emotional neglect, or unmet needs in childhood can still shape your adult thoughts, behaviours, and relationships — and why reparenting is the missing piece in so many healing journeys.

Lesson 2: When Old Wounds Get Triggered

Learn how emotional triggers in adulthood often stem from younger parts of you calling for care. This lesson helps you spot when a child part is activated — and introduces the three pillars of reparenting: nurturing, protection, and play.

Lesson 3: Nurturing – Learning to Care for Yourself

If you struggle to rest, keep promises to yourself, or stay consistent with self-care, this lesson is for you. You’ll explore why care can feel uncomfortable or difficult to sustain — and learn how to begin meeting your emotional and physical needs in a way that feels doable, energising, and steadying for your nervous system.

Lesson 4: Protection – Feeling Safe in Your ‘No’

Many of us weren’t protected from what overwhelmed us — so we learned to tolerate too much and say too little. This lesson helps you identify the people, patterns, and inputs that leave your nervous system on edge — and guides you in making choices that protect your peace, honour your limits, and rebuild trust in your own inner signals.

Lesson 5: Play – Reclaiming Joy and Lightness

Play isn’t frivolous — it’s medicine. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to reconnect with play, creativity, and curiosity as powerful tools for regulation and repair — even if those things feel awkward or unfamiliar at first. Play isn’t a reward for healing; it’s part of the healing itself — a way to return to something you may have once known, and deeply need now.

Lesson 6: Soothing Without Self-Abandonment

Are you soothing yourself — or subtly checking out? This lesson helps you make sense of common numbing behaviours (like drinking, scrolling, snacking, or staying busy) and understand the difference between true comfort and subtle self-abandonment - without shame or judgement.

Lesson 7: Grief, Growth & Staying With the Work

As you begin to offer yourself the care you didn’t receive, grief often surfaces. This final lesson creates space for that — while helping you consolidate the shifts you’ve made. You’ll create a personal reparenting anchor to return to when old patterns resurface.

PLUS: You’ll receive these bonus resources:

⭐️ Guided Meditation: Meeting Your Inner Child

A gentle audio practice to support connection when words or journalling feel too far away.

⭐️ Mini-Guide: Reparenting While Parenting

Honest, practical support for breaking cycles while raising kids — without perfectionism or pressure. Because you’re not just raising a child. You’re learning to care for the child you once were, too.

Meet Abby

Hi, I’m Abby Rawlinson — a psychotherapist, author, and mum

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years in the fast-paced world of media and marketing. I was high-achieving and good at pushing through. But underneath, I was anxious, exhausted, and stuck in quiet cycles of self-abandonment I didn’t yet have the language for.

Therapy - and later, training as a therapist - changed everything. Not just professionally, but personally. I began learning how to tune into my body, set boundaries, process old grief, and gently reparent the parts of me that had been left behind.

Now, through both my private practice and online work, I help others do the same.

I created this course because I know how much can shift when we start building a relationship with the child within — and how essential it is to involve the nervous system if we want those shifts to be lasting and embodied.

This isn’t just a course that tells you what inner child work is - I’ll guide you, step by step, through the tools and practices to help you actually do it.

Credentials: I am a trauma-informed integrative therapist, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and author ofReclaiming You’ (Penguin 2024). I hold a diploma in integrative counselling from the Minster Centre, one of Europe’s longest established and leading integrative psychotherapy and counselling training institutions.

In this course, I’ve distilled everything I’ve learned — through my clinical work, therapist training, and personal healing — into an accessible, integrative approach. One that doesn’t just talk about healing, but helps you feel it in your body, your boundaries, and your daily life.

Kind Words from Past Clients & Participants

  • "I signed up thinking it would just be interesting, but it went so much deeper. I didn’t expect to cry and feel so understood! The tools and exercises were really simple but powerful, and I'm sure I'll keep coming back to them again and again"

    Course Participant

  • "Abby has a way of giving language to things I didn't even realise I was feeling. I left feeling clearer, more self-compassionate, and far less alone in what I’d been carrying"

    Workshop participant

  • "There was something about Abby’s approach that felt deeply human. I’ve had therapy before, but this time it felt like something really shifted. Her words would stay with me long after each session"

    1:1 client

  • “I’ve always struggled to be consistent with self-care and setting boundaries - I would always end up anxious and burnt out. But since working with Abby, that’s really started to shift. I’m actually saying no, resting, and looking after myself - it feels amazing!"

    1:1 client

  • "The way Abby explained the nervous system and mental health completely changed how I understand my mood swings. I’d read so much before, but nothing ever really clicked. I finally get it now and its honestly life-changing!"

    Course Participant

  • "This course met me in the middle of emotional chaos - insomnia, harsh self-talk, constant overwhelm. I didn’t expect such a gentle course to have such a deep impact, but it did. I’m sleeping better, speaking to myself more kindly, and even got through a panic attack in a restaurant without spiralling. That moment alone made me realise: I’m not abandoning myself anymore.”

It’s not about blaming your parents - it’s about noticing where younger parts of you might be carrying old patterns - and showing up for yourself now in ways that feel healing and new.
